Experienced Accountant looking to use their skills in an organisation in the Cambridgeshire area.  They have a wealth of experience of preparing accounts and supporting businesses across the county and would be a valuable asset to a growing business that needs the expertise of someone used to working in a fast paced environment supporting a variety of organisations.

Summary

• Supporting a variety of Limited Companies: Property investors (40M+), building companies (450K+), software (200K+), energy (520M+). Work at clients’ premises along their team/employees.
•  Balance sheet reconciliations & journals, (e.g. share issues, depreciation, provisions, corporation & deferred tax, payables & receivables, PAYE)
• Bank reconciliation, (e.g. online, foreign currency, merchant accounts, Paypal, VISA). Assigning tasks to team members for bookkeeping, Excel analysis, expenses and preparation of VAT returns
• Trial balance to prepare month/year end, P&L, statutory accounts and CT600. Comply with UK GAAP/IFRS
•  Validation of ledgers, Excel sheets & info, (e.g. contact guarantors, check contracts, call logs, invoices, bank payments, system reports, etc.). Appraisal and update of debtors’ recoverability
•  Development of financial & management reporting function, (e.g. pricing, variance analysis, trends, profitability, P&L commentary, NPV, impairment, budgets and cashflows)
•  Control processes, (e.g. thresholds for layers of authorisation, inconsistences for errors)
•  Definition of criteria, (e.g. assumptions, risk & KPIs) for development of financial models for valuing & approving projects and investments
•  Audit, risk assessment & compliance: Due diligence, know your client, SOX, AMLR, banks collaterals and documents. Advice on corporate, income tax and directors’ responsibilities
• Report findings to/negotiate with CEOs, CFOs, investors, pension providers, Companies House, HMRC & auditors, (e.g. KPMG & Baker Tilly International) for accounts preparation and signing off
