Estimator | £30,000 - £40,000

As the Estimator you will be responsible for pricing tenders varying in volume and value and will have the ability to meet deadlines, communicate efficiently and manage expectations. This role will be varied and will have you liaising with clients and co-workers and have you covering a range of duties, including technical, commercial and procurement. You will be conscientious and self-disciplined, with the ability to effectively control cost and value. You will also understand drawings and be able to quantify materials whilst being good with numbers. 


As the Estimator you will be responsible for: 


• Samples to be collated, recorded and fully labelled for each project – Live or Tender

• Use and understand full pricing strategies within the construction sector from schedule of rates to the modular tendering process

• Pricing of projects of various scales, analysing scope, pricing/approving variations and assessing value-engineered options to meet the needs of the client as well as any set deadlines

• Deliver prices in multiple sectors including commercial, educational, and residential

• Client management and site presence to ensure the installation and smooth running of all tenders and projects

• Oversee valuations and variations on assigned projects and maintain full control over each project. Variation pricing to be completed through the chain i.e. site instructions and approved costs- evidence must be retained

• Liaise with suppliers to ensure they have all the necessary information to enable them to deliver the correct high-quality product

• Provide regular reports on projects in progress and report actual/potential issues

• Deliver excellent front-line customer service to clients, subcontractors and suppliers via phone and email

• Assist with the development, implementation and review of the firm's policies and procedures

• Procurement of new stock and negotiation on prices - Liaise with existing and source potential new suppliers, negotiating rates in favour of the business

• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents

• Identify labour, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents

• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.

• Responsible for preparing cost estimates by analysing proposals and requirements

• Work with both new and existing clients, you will analyse tender documents to ensure you fulfil the client requirements

• Take part in site surveys with the client to determine their requirements, and then transpose the information gathered into clear templated pricing documents

• You will be involved in the design, evaluation, inspection, and maintenance of the structure in its natural environment.
